Walking Idless Woods Truro

This weekend’s walk is an invitation to get lost in one of Truro’s most overlooked, but tranquil, spots: Idless Woods.

Idless Woods is popular with dog walkers and runners – and it’s a great spot for a family walk, too.  The main path is well laid and as you walk along the stream you can discover the abandoned workings of a gunpowder factory.  An overgrown hill-fort has its own trees growing in it, and as you walk you will find a fairly surprising collection of Eucalyptus trees, part of a Forestry commission experiment.

Use this map pin to find the car park, this is a great out-and-back walk if time is limited. Or, allow about 90 minutes for the full circular walk. We also recommend a visit to The Woodman’s Cafe for something warm to drink or a home-cooked light lunch – if you have time.
