Riverside walk
This loop follows the western and eastern banks of the river from Newham, along Morlaix Avenue and back along Malpas Road to Boscawen Park.
When the tide is low, look out for wading birds, including the Black-tailed Godwit, which comes to feed on the mud flats. At high tide canoeists, sailors and paddle boarders take to the water.

History and highlights
Truro Royal Regatta
The earliest regatta was a thriving affair that started in 1846. In 1859 the local newspaper described the scene;
"The banks were lined with spectators throughout the entire distance from Truro to Sunny Corner, at intervals along the bank there were numerous stalls and stands for the sale of refreshments. The Louisa steamer brought a large quantity of visitors from Fa I mouth and during the afternoon steamed up and down the river, affording those on board an excellent opportunity of witnessing the sports"
